Yoga practice has it's roots in ancient India. The word yoga come from sanskrit and means "union". This points to a deeper state of transformation, as well as pointing towards being on the yogic path. For us the practice of yoga is a path of growth in awareness, which provides us with various tools that may aid on the path of experiencing the true natural self. 
When we dive into the practice of yoga, the ocean of knowledge and experience is endless, there is constant change and new discoveries to be found, the deeper you go.

SUMMER YOGA
During the summer season we will have various yoga evening classes, morning self practice and mini-workshops at the Yogaloft at Melkevoll Bretun. In May, July & August we also have Yoga & Mountain retreats

YOGA & GONG
At the "Yogaloft" on the top floor of Melkevoll Bretun´s mainhouse. 
Every monday at 7.30-9.00 PM. 
This class is suitable for everyone, and is a soft practice of breath, movement, as well as silent sitting and relaxation. 
At times we have Yoga Nidra in the end, and other times bathing in the sound of the gongs.

MYSORE STYLE ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA
At the "Yogaloft" on the top floor of Melkevoll Bretun´s mainhouse. 
Starting on Wednesday 27.th June 2018. at 7.30-9.00 PM. 
This class is for those who are familiar with the sun salutations and most of the standing sequence,  as well as the basics in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga; those who have participated in foundation courses or classes before. 
The Mysore Style classes are self practice, where you will be guided and assisted in your practice during the class.

About Yoga 

The different practical yoga tools consist among other things of a variety of physical positions (asanas), breathing techniques, and methods for deep relaxation, consentration.. All these prepare us for going deeper into stillness and to balance the gross/physical to the subtle aspects of our being. Yoga is a vast and deep tradition and body of knowledge, and the experiences must come forth through practical experience. Even if many associate yoga with yoga positions these days, there is so much more to explore, study and discover. Yoga practice may lead to balance in different levels, and make us conscious about what has been in the unconscious.

What we share

 We have our background first and foremost in classical yoga and hatha yoga; the eight limbed ashtanga yoga. In the physical yoga practice the method of vinyasa is crucial in our classes, where breath and movement are linked together. We share from our experience so far, and add elements of yoga philosophy and insights from the heart in the classes.
