YOGA CLASSES, WORKSHOPS AND COURSES
We have our background first and foremost in hatha yoga, the classical eight limbed ashtanga yoga. In the physical yoga practice the method of vinyasa is crucial in our classes, where breath and movement are linked together. We share from our experience, and add elements of yoga philosophy and insights from the heart in the classes.
ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA
In the dynamic yoga classes we have the base in the primary series in the ashtanga vinyasa yoga, with focus on trishtana; energylocks, breathing technique and focus point. Johanne share this sequence as she has learned it from practice experience, and through guidance from senior teachers/students of P. Jois, as well as practice with Sarawathi Jois and R. Sharath in Mysore among others.
This sequence of postures is called yoga therapy, and aim for balance on various levels. With a wise, intelligent and gentle approach and steady practice over time, we find this to be a wonderful yoga tool and a wholesome foundation in yoga practice. This vinyasa practice can also be a tool for a life long practice, and for health and balance on various levels. This method also include the Eight Limbed Yoga path as described in Patanjali´s Yoga Sutras, with the various Yamas and Niyamas which are a fundamental part of the practice.
OTHER HATHA YOGA, SAMA YOGA & RESTORATIVE CLASSES
We also share classes where we allow the intuitive focus with classical yoga positions, breathing technique, simple pranayamas,
as well as sitting and deep relaxation & Yoga Nidra.
Sama yoga is a soft, flowing and energizing form of Hatha yoga with elements of QiGong, and the restorative yoga classes focuses on recovery, relaxation and restful positions inspired by yinyoga.
Our yoga courses are for both beginners and for those who has practiced yoga for a while. We share the yoga with both young and elder, and do our best to create variations due to various needs and conditions, so that the yoga practice become a tool for therapy as well as silence and peace of mind & heart.
YOGA IN SCHOOL - for TEACHERS AND CHILDREN
We are currently working on a course in yoga inspired tools with mindfulness, relaxation, breathing techniques for teachers in school. These courses and workshops are meant for school teachers, to release stress as well as a tool to create balance and health; and to feel confident to share simple tools in the classrooms with the students and children.
These classes are for one person, or for small groups. In private classes the opportunity to support you in our own practice is better than in a group setting. Traditionally yoga was thought one-on-one and with special care for each individual. In a private class we can work on specific practical yoga tools, discuss your individual needs, as well as create a yoga program for your own self practice.
WORKSHOPS, RETREATS AND DEEPENING COURSES
We have had weekend and week-long workshops since 2014. In these workshops we have been covering yoga position practices (asanas), meditation and relaxation, lifestyle and philosophy.
The foundations for our workshops is the classical eight limbed yoga as described in Yoga Sutras. These workshops are suitable for beginners as well as those who has been practicing yoga for a while.
WELCOME TO CONTACT US IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PRIVATE LESSONS, WORKSHOPS, COURSES FOR TEACHERS OR OTHER QUESTIONS!
Yoga is a life long practice and study and we share from our experience so far, and always remain open to new discoveries and insights;
First and foremost through our own practice and experience, as well as studies and learning from more experienced teachers.
We hope to share the yoga tools in a way that inspire to practice and to learn, as well as to share practical tools that you can use in your everyday life.
